BOSTON:

Buildings Affected:

  • All buildings seventy (70) feet or higher.

Inspection Frequency:

  • Every five (5) years for occupied buildings.
  • Every year for unoccupied buildings.

Inspection Requirements:

  • Visual inspection on all walls.
  • Wall 125 feet or less in height can be visual only.
  • Walls greater than 125 feet in height require one (1) close-up inspection drop per elevation.

Inspection Requirements:

  • Inspection must meet or exceed ASTM Standards or Periodic Inspection of Building Facades for Unsafe Conditions contained in E2270-14.
  • Buildings over 50 years old must file prior to June 6, 2017, and buildings between 30 and 50 years old must file before June 6, 2018. Successive inspections and reports must be filed every five (5) years from the date of the original inspection report filed.
